Tweed, Was m Ireland To Nancy Ross b 1791 d 8/9/1864 in Randolph Co. IL. 

"she was the Dau of Robert Ross of Anockwall, Parish Derrykeigham, near Derrock, Co.
Antrim, Ireland Lord and Lady Ross were wealthy and had a beautiful estate."

  "Influenced by their son Robert, who had come to America in 1836, and to Randolph Co.IL

in 1838 This couple Thomas and Nancy Mathews came to Illinois in 1840 with the
principle part of the family arriving in the country, by way of New Orleans and thence to
Illinois.

They where members of the Old Light, (Reformed Presbyterian) Church, and raised their
children in the fear of the Lord, as the first great truth of life; than place before them an
example of piety and virtue worthy of their initiation, and they all became members of
that same church an had lead exemplar lives, and have made reputable, patriotic and
trustworthy citizens.

Thomas Mathews was born 6/12/1782 in Ireland and died in Randolph Co. IL.
D 10/14/1874 in his 93rd year. He married in Ireland Nancy Ross b in Ireland and died in
Randolph Co. IL. About 1864. she was the Dau of Robert Ross of Anockwall, Parish
Derrykeigham, near Derrock, Co. Antrim. 

Thomas and Nancy left Ireland 9/25/1839, and arrived in Randolph Co. IL. On 1/24/1840.
